Alex's E-Mail Comments:
Of course when I received my top, I couldn't wait to install it. I did have to wait until I could use my garage; in order to have an area where it would be warm enough for the vinyl top to be flexible. I first reviewed the instructions and inventoried all the items in the kit. (The instructions were written very well and were simple to understand.) I gathered all the required tools listed at the beginning of the instructions and then proceeded to lay all the items out across my living room in similar sequence to each step (despite complaints from the wife). The most difficult part of the installation was removing the hard top and divider pan. The divider pan had a factory sealant which was crystallized and hard to remove. The actual installation of the components for the top was fairly easy. All the measurements in the instructions were very accurate and made the job go smoothly. (The only trouble I ran into is when I was setting the proper distance from the windshield to the tailgate. I had a small rock chip in the windshield and as I was applying pressure to move it to the correct angle the chip splintered into a full top-to-bottom crack.) After I matched one side of the parts for the rail system and put them in their proper order and position, it was just a matter of drilling a few holes for the mounting hardware. The rails fit perfectly and even aligned up to some of the factory holes. After completing one side the other side went together very quickly. The rest of the job was simple. Now it was just a matter of installing the support bows and then finally - the top! The whole installation took only around 3 and a half hours. I was amazed how easily it was and how quickly it took to complete the entire installation. I have to send my compliments on the engineering and craftsmanship shown in the quality of this fine top. Thanks again. :)
Yours truly, Alex Gephart Oak Harbor, WA
